Addah turned 3 this past Friday. I can’t believe my little one, my baby girl, is 3. She woke up with her new hemp fleece robe beside her with little kitty cats on the pockets. She’s worn it nonstop since then, all bundled up like an arctic explorer. We made cupcakes after dinner and had ice cream and hot chocolate – yum! She had great fun opening her presents ~ Little People farm animals and two My Little Ponies, one each from Grandma and Papa.
This is the first year since she’s been born that I didn’t turn to mush for the three days prior to her birthday over “what happened”. I still thought about it, but it didn’t overshadow my little one’s special day like it has before for me. I did get teary over how big she’s getting and how I don’t have a “baby” anymore – but she asked to nurse before bedtime, so I guess she’s still somewhat my baby.
I knit her a pair of orange and yellow striped mocs yesterday and she is digging them. I still need to whipstitch some leather onto the bottoms so she won’t slip slide all over the kitchen.
My main computer crapped out on me last week. When I turned on the monitor in the morning, the computer was stuck in an endless boot mode. I was terrified that I’d lost everything, not having backed up my files to CD-RW since August. After many hours and frustration, Drew fixed it so that I could get to my files and back them up. The hard drive is still going and will need to be replaced, but I’m okay with that now that I have my beloved pictures and embroideries and my Quickbooks files. I was in terror thinking that I’d need to redo data entry for the last 5 months. Eeek!
We are now able to accept credit cards — Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express — through our website! I’m excited!
