Let the games begin!

I told the girls they could stay up late and watch the Opening Ceremonies last night. They only made it to the very beginning of when the countries were being introduced before they fell asleep. They got to see pictures of the torch being lit online this morning though, so they were happy enough with that. Lakin’s favorite sport to watch is downhill skiing and she says one day she’s going to ski like “those ‘lympic people” too. Addah prefers the figure skating duos and likes to spin around with them. 🙂

I cast on for my Knitting Olympics challenge during the Opening Ceremonies — Addah’s Weasley sweater (but in the round instead of flat like L’s). I’ll do her “A” in duplicate stitch instead of intarsia because I am just not happy with the “L” intarsia I did. I need much more practice with intarsia to be satisfied but I don’t want to use this sweater for practicing.

I also finished a couple pairs of socks for the Fluff Factory auctions at the end of the month. I sent two pairs of shoes for the auctions next week. FF is raising money for FIAU this year and I can’t wait to see the beautiful auctions!
