I’ve spent the past two days immersed in a world of fantastic blogs, searching for topics that cater to my life, my interests, and the direction I want my family’s life to lead. It is truly astounding, how many blogs there are, with amazing writing that draws you in and photographs that make you feel like you’re really a part of the action.

David and I have had many soul-searching talks about our path… our 6-month & 1 year & 5 year plans. What we will do when our kids are grown and in college, or married and raising their own families. We waffle between buying a little farm in the country and raising chickens & goats, like Jenna at Cold Antler Farm, or buying an RV and traveling the countryside, like Sara Janssen & her happy family. Sometimes we fantasize about selling everything and moving to a different country, as Rae at Journey Mama has done.

I have been guilty in the past of being a pessimist, and you can certainly look through my blog posts from years gone by, where the misery seems to leap from the typed words. I am content now, in a happier place than I once thought possible, and I want to strive to reflect that in my blog. I don’t know yet where my family will end up, but I love the path we’re on and I am thankful for so many inspirations around me in the online blogging community.

I like to write about appreciating all of the beautiful little things that surround us, particularly in the face of grief, infant loss and mental health issues. Every day is an adventure!
