Rose-Colored Glasses

Normally, I participate in “Stream of Consciousness Sunday”, hosted by Fadra of AllThingsFadra.com. The idea is to type for 5 minutes, a brain dump of sorts, and then to publish without editing the writing at all. I’ve skipped a couple of weeks, due to our big move from South Carolina to Texas, and my subsequent creativity slump. I’m glad to be back this week!

#SOCsunday
I’ve really found myself struggling with my blog lately. My love for it hasn’t diminished one bit, but I find that I am more careful about what I want to write. I spent a lot of time developing my ability to appreciate the little things, those fine moments in every day that make all of the hard things worth going through. Trying to keep a pair of rose-colored glasses handy has helped my mental health tremendously over the past couple of years.

Unfortunately, I seem to have misplaced my rose-colored glasses in the move. I’d really like them back, but every time I think I might have found them, some little something gets in the way and moves them a little further out of my reach.

I had gotten into the habit of writing daily, and I really enjoyed that, so it is my personal goal for September to get my act together and post more, like I used to. I can’t promise it will all be rosy and enlightened, but I can promise that I am moving in that direction.

Now… where did I put those darn glasses?!

Congrats on your move! There must be so much going on in your brain that it’s not hard to believe that it’s tough getting back into a routine. I do find that the more I write, the more the writing juices flow. Keep it up!

  • As a Texan, welcome to Texas!! Moving is hard everytime. Give yourself time to be adjusted.

I did my one month of writing every day and then had a month where I barely posted. I was just telling myself I needed to get back into a groove.

  • I know how you feel. I’ve been struggling too because of everything that’s been going on here. If you happen to find a 2nd set of those glasses, be sure to send me a pair!

  • You’ve got a lot to deal with right now too, Crystal… I know you need the glasses as much as I do. ((hugs))
