This Sunday, I’m participating in “Stream of Consciousness Sunday”, hosted by Jana of Jana’s Thinking Place. The idea is to type for 5 minutes, a brain dump of sorts, and then to publish without editing the writing at all.
Over the course of the last year, David and I have watched a ridiculous number of television shows, courtesy of Netflix. We worked our way through the entirety of LOST, re-watched every season of Futurama and Weeds, skipped around in Parenthood and Torchwood, watched seasons 1-6 of Doctor Who and seasons 1-2 of The Walking Dead.
We actually purchased a season pass for The Walking Dead season 3 through Xbox Video (formerly Zune Video), so we’re current on that one (until tonight, of course).
We found ourselves clicking around for something new to watch last night, after the kids went to bed. David remembered seeing the trailer for Once Upon A Time, and we thought we’d watch the pilot episode and see if it grabbed our interest. It did… in one night (staying up way too late) we’ve watched 5 episodes.
Now, don’t shake your heads and think, “what a waste of time, watching all that TV”.
We are productive TV watchers. I knit, David draws. We have lively conversations between episodes about what just happened and what we predict will happen next. It’s become one of our favorite pastimes, actually… kind of funny for people who never watch current television and who haven’t paid for cable for as long as we’ve been together.
The best part? No commercials.
