Insane Goals – January 2013 Update

In January, I came up with a list of several things that David and I want to accomplish this year. We’ve made a conscience effort to work toward these goals, as well as the goals on our 101 Things in 1,001 Days list. We have made great strides in some areas, and some areas are going to take a bit more time.

I will take one day out of every month to go over our successes and failures from the previous month. I do well with the pressure of being accountable to others, and this monthly post will hopefully inspire us to stay on task and check items off of the list.

I’ve linked up with Rebekah at SimplyRebekah.com, as part of her monthly Insane Goals movement! If you haven’t joined, I encourage you to post your own goals list, link up and join us in getting things done this year!

How Did January Stack Up…

We made some serious decisions about where our tax refund money would be allotted to do the most good for our bottom line. We sat down together and came up with a realistic budget for the month, and we made a promise to each other that we would stick to it.

All four of us made a list of chores that must be done around the house, and we divvied these up between us all. We now have a pretty little chore chart on the refrigerator and so far, the girls are sticking to it fairly well.

I committed to eating healthier, drinking more water, and exercising more, with the short-term goal of losing 30 lbs. and the long-term goal of needing to lose more than 100 lbs. I lost 8 lbs. between December 31, 2012 and January 31, 2013, which I think is a pretty nice start to the New Year.

I had friends coming to spend the night in the last weekend of January, so I did a massive deep-clean of the house. The kitchen cabinets, the girls’ room (and closet) and our bedroom have been organized and largely decluttered. Our closet, my work area and our closet still need serious attention.

I met all of my blogging goals in January! Yay me (and you)! I also set-up and uploaded quite a bit to David’s RedBubble store. You can click through to see his lovely artwork, if you’re so inclined.

All in all, January was a very productive month and February is shaping up to be just as productive, if not more so! We’ve already met a couple more goals since the beginning of this month, but I will save those for my next update!

I have updated my original Insane Goals post below, with completed goals crossed out and new additions added in italics.

Good luck with your goals! What a great idea to post it on your blog and be accountable to your readers! I can especially relate to the ‘get pregnant’ goal as we have been TTC for over 15 months after a miscarriage! Good luck and i hope God blesses you with a bundle of joy very very soon!
